September 20, 2013, Waldorf, MD – The Community Foundation of Southern Maryland will host its 8th Annual Philanthropy Day Luncheon—Celebrate Philanthropy in Southern Maryland—on Friday, November 1, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Greater Waldorf Jaycees Community Center.

At this annual event, the foundation recognizes the region’s philanthropists by formally inducting them into the Philanthropy Hall of Fame. The philanthropists are selected because of their lifetime commitment to making Southern Maryland the best place to live and give.

“We are honored to recognize these philanthropic leaders in our community and include them in the Community Foundation of Southern Maryland Philanthropy Hall of Fame,” said Ellen Flowers-Fields, Ellen Flowers-Fields, Board of Directors Chairperson. “These individuals join a distinguished list of givers in our community.
