The Community Foundation of Southern Maryland recently distributed funds to the College of Southern Maryland Foundation, which included $5,200 that the foundation then presented to Sisters at Heart Breast Cancer Survivors Group of Charles County Maryland.
The College of Southern Maryland Foundation was established in 1970 as the nonprofit charitable organization and fundraising arm of the College of Southern Maryland. It raises friends and funds to support students and college initiatives such as scholarships, programs, technology, professional development, and special projects.
Sisters At Heart, a donor advised fund, established in May 2010 with CFCC, created to promote breast cancer awareness. The group formed in November 2007 with the hope to make a difference in the lives of women diagnosed with breast cancer. “Each of us has faced the reality of our diagnosis and its impact on our lives. We share our hopes, our fears, and our tears. We are here today to draw strength and comfort from each other as we travel this road together.”
